Climbing Blind: Smart, Savvy Skills for Strong Healthy Teams
Goal: for the team members to get to know one another and to set vision, alignment and expectations.
This one day team building retreat for Sr. Leaders will set vision, alignment and execution. Based on the inspiring story of Erik Weihenmayer, a blind man who successfully climbed Mt. Everest. We all have our own Everest and we all climb blind – blinded by our perspectives and experiences. Fewer than 10% of all people who attempt to climb Everest make it to the top. Of those who do, 1 in 6 die.
Only teams that have one common goal, and a well-thought out plan that everyone buys into, will succeed in summitting their Everest. During this retreat we’ll set the vision and expectations for this team. We’ll discuss leadership principles and teamwork from the Everest Team and apply it to this team. We’ll use Everything DiSC Workplace to help leaders identify their strengths and stressors. Erik’s team was successful because they learned how to communicate with him and build on each other’s strengths. This team will succeed when they learn to see things from different perspectives.
