Beth Speaks: MD SHRM
Session Overview: Mental flexibility is a hallmark of critical thinking. To be mentally flexible means to be able to adapt, to appreciate various points of view, to be open to new possibilities, to change your ways when necessary, and to be willing to continually learn and grow. People who develop their thinking power are more effective communicators, problem solvers, and negotiators. By conveying a more adaptive approach to their interactions, they build stronger relationships throughout the organization. They are the HR Power Hitters who influence organizational behaviors and win/win outcomes.
During this workshop, Beth will help HR Professionals become more aware of their unconscious biases and rigid attitudes and show them smart and savvy skills to improve critical thinking and problem solving so that they will be more effective communicators.
Primary Learning Objective: Understand the verbal and non-verbal signals we send and receive, and the effect of our hidden biases, Look at the world in new ways, Recognize rigid attitudes and snap reactions that lead to destructive responses, Step back and tame value judgments using the PIN formula, Learn more productive responses.
